CAMPUS OF CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY

Professor Ashish DasGupta, Dean, Faculty of Technology, University of Calcutta has described the background for the proposed Technology Campus of the University. In view of the explosive developments in different areas of Science and Technology and increasing demands of deserving students for admission to the postgraduate courses, the University has decided to establish a new campus in the Salt Lake area to accommodate different departments under the Faculty of Technology and other emerging subjects. In addition to the building of a multistoried block, it is planned to develop adequate infrastructures required for vibrant teaching and research programs in the future. In this endeavor, the University is trying to mobilize resources from within and outside. I hereby appeal to the alumni of this pioneering institution to contribute liberally to this effort for a new facility for the benefit of future generations of students in this country. A separate Bank Account especially meant for this purpose will be opened and contributions in excess of a certain amount (say, US$ 10,000/- or equivalent) will be acknowledged by displaying the name of the donor in a plaque to be installed in the new campus.
